چکیده
Abstract The International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) is a multi-institute model of the Earth’s magnetic field, compactly described by sets up to 195 spherical harmonic (Gauss) coefficients degree and order 13, which allows continuous evaluation field at any location time on or above surface. It developed from satellite ground-based magnetometer data describes large-scale variation in space under quiet conditions. While much effort has been made improving forecast secular over 5-year intervals between release renewal, less emphasis placed understanding spatial errors user point view. In this study, we estimate time-invariant uncertainty IGRF based globally averaged misfit measurements repeat stations observatories 1980 2021. As ground are reduced quiet-time values, external minimized for purposes study. We find 68.3% confidence interval 87 nT North (X) component, 73 East (Y) component 114 vertical (Z) component. Due Laplacian distribution residuals, standard deviations larger 144, 136 293 nT, respectively. Graphical

Predicting the Multifractal Geomagnetic Field
The geomagnetic field at the Earth’s surface is determined by a large number of current sources, internal and external, which vary at overlapping time scales. As a result, the time variation of the field, ranging from nHz to tens of Hz, can be modeled as a multifractal whose properties depend on frequency and activity level, with the latter being largely determined by the external driving due t...
متن کاملNOAA/NGDC candidate models for the 11th generation International Geomagnetic Reference Field and the concurrent release of the 6th generation Pomme magnetic model
The International Geomagnetic Reference Field (IGRF) is updated every five years based on candidate model submissions by research institutions worldwide. In the call for the 11th generation of IGRF, candidates were requested for the definitive main field in 2005, the predicted main field in 2010, and the predicted secular variation from 2010 to 2015. The NOAA/NGDC candidate models for IGRF-11 w...
متن کاملSecurity Estimates for Quadratic Field Based Cryptosystems
We describe implementations for solving the discrete logarithm problem in the class group of an imaginary quadratic field and in the infrastructure of a real quadratic field. The algorithms used incorporate improvements over previously-used algorithms, and extensive numerical results are presented demonstrating their efficiency. This data is used as the basis for extrapolations, used to provide...
متن کاملUsing Geomagnetic Field for Indoor Positioning
Geomagnetic field variation in support for indoor positioning and navigation has recently attracted considerable interest because of the advantage that technology based on the geomagnetic field has no infrastructure needs. Test using sensitive magnetometers has confirmed that it is possible to use geomagnetic field information for positioning purposes, however there are still issues to be addre...
متن کاملGeomagnetic field behavior during the Iceland Basin and Laschamp geomagnetic excursions: A simple transitional field geometry?
[1] We present four new records of the Iceland Basin Excursion (IBE) and five new records of the Laschamp Excursion (LE) obtained from rapidly deposited marine sediments in the North Atlantic Ocean, the Nordic Seas, the Gulf of Mexico, the South China Sea, and the southern Indian Ocean. Marked minima in relative paleointensity correspond with the paleomagnetic directional changes associated wit...
